You can also do this in Florida! Even better, admission is free as long as you’re a slow swimmer who can’t outrace the alligators. It certainly is a good idea to bring someone to swims a lot slower than you do.

We have a big dumping of sewage problem in the UK thanks to our former conservative 'Tory' government and their abdication of monitoring the private water companies.
I really would be careful before swimming in any location in the UK.
Pay? The USA sucks right now but there are at least half a dozen wild places to swim within an hour of me all of whose water is tested monthly (probably soon to be yearly with government service cuts).
