There should be an annual race- from the top run down the dune, touch the water, then race back up to the top!
Had the chance to do it. It took me about 5 minutes to go down and 45min to get back to the top.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
THERE IS NO WHERE RUN
YOU WILL PAY THE PRICE
If it was a sand dune
Crazy I used to love close to there
Been to sleeping bear so many times and we always avoid the dune climb. I'd rather see it from the top anyways!
Have a friend with boat pickup when want to go
It’s not that bad, I was there and it’s took like 20 mins to get back up
It's wild to think, but there's other things and places at Sleeping Bear than this sign and this spot.
I live in Michigan but never been! I’ve been to another area that’s similar but not as big and steep. I’m hoping to go at some point though!
Bro, I’m at sleeping sleeping bear dunes right now
Lake Michigan is not near South Dakota😂
The key is to walk along the bottom edge til you see a low climb
It’s just a painful hike. Everyone should do those once in a while. I recommend it for everybody who doesn’t have mobility problems
Born, raised and still living in Traverse City. I feel real lucky to live here, my only complaints are the roads and price of housing. Wouldnt want to be anywhere else. Also been far too long since I've been to the dunes, I vaguely remember going there on road trips as a kid.
The written description says South Dakota. South Dakota does not border Lake Michigan
People who have been to sleeping bear dunes

stop showing people our shit we don’t want more tourists
Oh yes, we are all aware that in the good ol’ USA that it costs us to be saved while the government also taxes us dry.
I WAS JUST HERE TODAY
I did it just today and yesterday it’s so fun
I loved running and jumping down some of these dunes.
